A Chanced Meeting
That red-head many inhabitants of Tynnara have grown so accustomed to seeing wandering around is taking a day to herself now out by a lake that her friend, Vixen, used to frequent at hoping to find piece there as Vixen had. Emily needed to calm her mind back down. Trying to get over a break-up was hard enough but no contact with ones own sister was even worst. Sally hadn't spoken to Emily since they had gotten Sally a new family and it cut Emily worst than anything else Emily had experienced before.
Emily stopped not far in her walk spotting a young man ahead of her. Thoughts of running filled her head as she stared wide-eyed at him. Men couldn't be trusted and Emily knew that all to well and yet, something about this boy fascinated her. So, against her every thought she moved towards him curious and cautious.
The boy looked up at her and she squeaked and froze. He just smiled at her lowering his paint brush and Emily's stomach sis a summer-salt. "Hi there." The boy said softly to her.
Emily looked at her feet. "H-hello." She managed to look back up at him. "What are you doing?" She asked noting the canvass in front of him and the paint brush in his hand.
He smiled at her again very kindly. "I am painting." Emily crept closer to him and looked at the canvass at his painting of the lake.
Emily's eyes brightened up and she smiled "It is so pretty!" She said smiling widely.
It was the boys turn to look at the painting and then back at her curiously. "It is missing something."
Emily looked from the painting to the scene in front of her. "What? I don't see anything missing..."
He gently moved her, "Stay there."
Emily turned a deep shade of Crimson standing where indicated as this mysterious new stranger painted her into the picture. "I... I am Emily." She said softly to the painter.
The boy looked up at her and smiled, 'why does my stomach feel funny???' Emily asked herself when he did. "I am Paul. It is nice to meet you Emily."
Emily turned her stare to her feet and hid her blush as best she could behind such short hair. "It is nice to meet you too Paul."
He looked at her as he finished. "Want to see it?"
Emily didn't seem to hesitate this time when he invited her to his side and she smiled at the minature of herself. "It looks beautiful Paul."
Paul handed the painting to her. "Take it, it's yours."
Emily's eyes widened. "Really? You... You mean it?"
Paul just nodded smiling.
As the sun began to set Emily's smile faded. "I should be getting home...."
Paul looked at the setting sun and frowned, he didn't exactly want Emily to leave. "Uhm... You could stay the night at my house if you'd like..." He added quickly, "In separate rooms of course!"
Emily felt really uneasy, he was a male... What good thing had any male ever done for her. "I... I don't know..." She looked at him again and nodded. "Aright.... But it will be separate rooms!" She couldn't believe she couldn't say no to him...
Now Emily spent the night with the boy not trusting him and the next morning Emily was taken from the house by slavers working for Jabba the hut and the house Paul had taken her to was torched.
Emily just new she would never see anyone again... [To be continued...]
